Happy Autumnal Equinox

If I had my druthers, I'd celebrate by spending the afternoon/evening sipping a good bourbon on the back porch with some friends and family and listening to a bit of bluegrass.

However you spend yours, I hope you enjoy it.

Soylent

...not really, though, at least with this kind of Soylent.

"Enter Soylent, the gulp that sustains. Its primary components are a powder made from maltodextrin, rice protein, oat flour, and more vitamins and minerals than mid-century food scientists ever managed to pack into a loaf of Wonder Bread, plus a liquid blend of canola oil and fish oil. Mix the powder with the oil, add water, and that's it. Soylent is almost as easy to prepare as a glass of Coca-Cola, and yet it is designed to function as a "staple meal" that offers "maximum nutrition with minimal effort.""

Hey, I'm intrigued and they take Bitcoin. Why not try it out? I always wondered what people taste like.

John Mayer - Walt Grace's Submarine Test, January 1967

"But with a will to work hard,
And a library card,
He took a homemade, fan-blade, one-man submarine ride."

Follow your dreams. Allow yourself the life you want.

The White Stripes - Isis (Bob Dylan). Live Demo 2002. 5/9

Been a while since I posted a music video, so heare you go. The good kind of Isis, not the Caliphate. Too bad they didn't do this on 5/5, that would be too fitting. Good cover, enjoy.

Jello Biafra was a genius

I pointed it out once before in Rediscovery that Jello's lyrics were certainly applicable today in the case of domestic politics in the state of California.

His insight into foreign policy was just as sharp and in fact, nearly prescient. Check out this video, from the 80's as well, mind you. This isn't an official video and the references are updated to the early part of the last decade but, they are relevant again in the early part of this one.

Great articles

Two from WRSA.

On the Open Source Revolution.

And on lessons from a deep-web drug dealer.

Both are worth a read and your consideration.

I know Dylan said it in the 60's but it's as true now as then.
